Whole-home repiping requires a building permit. This step takes 1–2 weeks depending on your city’s review timeline. We keep you informed about permits and any questions the building department has. Once the permit is approved, we’re cleared to proceed.

With the permit approved, our plumbers begin installing new supply lines. We run ½” PEX (or copper if you’ve chosen that) from the main water meter shutoff through the house, branching to ½” or ⅜” lines that reach each fixture. PEX is flexible, so we can snake lines through existing spaces without major demolition — often running under floors, through crawl spaces, or alongside walls. We pressure-test all new lines at 80+ psi for 15+ minutes to ensure no leaks. We leave stub-outs at each fixture location ready for connection to faucets, toilets, and water heaters. Once all new lines are tested and the rough-in is approved, we systematically disconnect the old pipes and tie in the new ones. We start by shutting off water to one section at a time, removing old pipes (galvanized, copper, or polybutylene), and connecting new PEX or copper to fixtures. We install supply valves (shut-offs) beneath sinks and toilet fill valves so you can service fixtures independently in the future. We test water flow, pressure, and temperature at each fixture as we complete it. We minimize the time any area is without water — typically no more than a few hours per room or zone.
