A hardworking veteran and devoted single father of two is currently facing a difficult time. His air conditioning system has broken down, and he’s struggling to afford a replacement.
Mataya Topil
Mataya is a remarkable, hardworking, and kindhearted mother who pours her heart into teaching the next generation—all while pursuing her master’s degree. She has a rare gift for making everyone around her feel valued and appreciated. Recently relocated to the area, Mataya is now facing the challenge of living in a home with outdated and inefficient equipment. Though she brings light and joy to her students each day, even she can only do so much to brighten the discomfort of a struggling A/C system at home.
Marisella Gurrola Youman
Marisella and Brent are devoted parents to two wonderful sons, working tirelessly to maintain a home that has required constant upgrades—no small feat on a limited income. For the past five years, they’ve hoped to install a new central A/C system, but each year, urgent home repairs have forced them to delay. While small window units offer temporary relief, their home was built for central air, and they deserve to experience the comfort it was designed to provide. Some summers have been so brutally hot that they couldn’t even cook in the kitchen—a space where the family once bonded over meals and laughter. It’s heartbreaking to see that tradition slip away. Thank you for offering the opportunity to apply for help—it truly means so much.
